Philanthropy Ghana gets new Executive Director

We are excited to introduce Lawrencia Awuku, our new Executive Director. Her remarkable passion for philanthropy and social investment and her extensive experience in networking building, partnerships development and fostering impactful initiatives makes her an invaluable addition to our team, infusing in the coalition with a dynamic and innovative spirit.

✍ Here are a few essential things you should know about her:

Lawrencia has an MA in International Social Development from the University of East Anglia, combined with her vast 10 years of professional experiences in the development sector.

As the Country Director for Move the World, Ghana, Lawrencia played a vital role increasing grants, reach and impact of the organisation’s educational programs with a  2-year grant from Global Fund for Children. Also, she created job opportunities for young people through a collaboration program with MasterCard Foundation, Solidaridad International,Plan International  and International Water Management Institute.

Over the years, she has volunteered in Uganda, where she fundraised for Uganda Hands for Hope and provided teaching support to the Children with Disability Class. She currently volunteers as the Project Manager for Angels Ark Foundation donating sanitary pads and educational materials to underserved communities and Children’ Homes in Ghana and also serves as a young trustee on the UK board for Village by Village, a UK charity providing potable water and access to quality health care and education in hard to reach communities.

She speaks 3 different languages; Spanish, French and English.
